City Tree Services is a family business with two generations of professional tree arborists. The company has more than 25 years of experience in arboriculture. Founder Tony Jansen launched the family business in 1997. The company comprises two generations of arborists. It provides tree solutions to homeowners, schools, retirement villages and aged care facilities, builders, developers, body corporates, councils and local governments. The company specialises in tree management, storm and emergency response. The team holds qualifications including a Diploma of Applied Science Arboriculture, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, Certificate III in Arboriculture (Trade Qualifications) and Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operation.

Founder Tony Jansen is the Head Trainer for Arboriculture at CTC College Queensland. The company has a range of insurances, including Work Cover, Public Liability for $20M and Professional Indemnity Insurance with $10M. It can communicate with local councils regarding Vegetation Protection Orders. The company provides an emergency response service to remove or trim trees due to storm damage. It accepts cash, cheques, direct debit and EFT. Main services include tree pruning, tree removal, arborist services and reports, storm and emergency responses, tree management plans, and stump grinding and removal.

Homeowners and property managers in Brisbane who have needed large trees removed, storm-damaged sites cleared or whole gardens pruned describe the same handful of strengths again and again. Several customers note that the crew turns up when arranged and works quickly but without cutting corners, using the equipment needed to take down substantial trees safely near powerlines, carports and neighbouring properties. More than one review highlights that the site is left tidier than it was found, with fallen leaves cleared and plants protected rather than trampled.

Communication before and after the job is a point that comes up often, including the same person quoting and then completing the work, and video notes taken at the first visit so the crew understands views, privacy and the angles wanted from particular windows. Tony is named for his knowledge of pruning and tree aesthetics, Janice for arranging appointments, and Ali, Adam and Harry for polite, professional conduct on site. Customers also describe quotes as reasonable and the finished work as matching what was agreed. Garden pruning, aesthetic shaping and emergency storm clean-up recur in accounts of the business.
