Gibsons Stump Grinding

Gibson's Stump Grinding is a sole operator business run by owner and operator Blake, who is fully qualified and fully insured. Blake is insured to remove trees up to 3 and a half metres in height. The business uses equipment from leading brands including Vermeer and Stihl. It provides stump removal services in Townsville and surrounding areas in North Queensland, servicing residential and commercial clients.

Narrow access equipment can be deployed to remove stumps in hard-to-reach areas. The business was an award-winning small business in 2025 and a finalist in 2024 and 2023. Free quotes are available. The main services are stump grinding and removal, including tree removal up to 3.5 metres in height.

In Townsville and the surrounding districts, Gibsons Stump Grinding has built a following through repeat work and word of mouth. Blake is the name that recurs most often, with customers describing him as prompt, easy to deal with and careful around fences and established garden beds. Reviews time and again mention that quotes and invoices arrive when promised, that communication before and after the job is clear, and that the final result often exceeds what was expected.

The business handles stump grinding alongside tree felling and removal, and several accounts cover multiple jobs completed over time, including extra stumps found after the initial visit. Pricing is described as fair and appropriate, with additional work quoted reasonably rather than added on. Tidiness stands out: work areas are left clean and tidy, and care is taken not to disturb surrounding structures. Ray Gibson and his team are also credited with professional removal of pines and palms, followed by stump cleanup. Speed and efficiency come up often, as does the sense that the crew takes pride in the finished result.
