FNQ Stump Grinding

FNQ Stump Grinding is a small family business based in Cairns. Mark is the owner and has over 20 years of machinery operation and maintenance experience, and has been a qualified carpenter for over 10 years. The company specialises in smaller tree removal and stump grinding of any size.

It operates a Toro STX38 tracked stump grinder with a width of 860mm for narrow access, and uses a Kanga loader for clean-up. The company is fully insured and serves Cairns and the surrounding Far North Queensland area. Its main services are stump grinding and small tree removal.

Mark is the name that surfaces throughout accounts of this Cairns operation, and the work he carries out centres on grinding out stumps and tree roots. An aspect raised across a number of reviews is how quickly he turns an enquiry into a finished job, with customers describing same-day visits and work completed straight after an initial look at the property. Several reviewers describe the site being left neat and tidy, with dust and debris controlled and the ground cleared before he departs. The finish itself draws consistent praise, from single stumps to seven at a time, including clusters of golden cane palm reduced to a pile of mulch.

Fair and reasonable pricing is mentioned alongside the speed of the job, as is clear communication from the first phone call through to completion. Repeat engagements feature in the feedback, with customers returning for further grinding work and noting the same standard each time. Small extra efforts also register, such as retrieving a stray piece of wood from a roof. The friendly and professional manner he brings to each visit is another theme running through the accounts, with mulch left behind after grinding described as a useful by-product.
